Metric

Ukraine, like most of the civilized world, uses the metric system for measurement. Those of us from America find this system very foreign to us and haven’t the slightest idea how much a liter, meter, or kilogram is. The following conversion and measurement tables should help you figure it out.

Temperature:
Metric System American System
Water’s freezing point 0 °Celsius (C) 32 °Fahrenheit (F)
Water’s boiling point 100 °Celsius (C) 212 °Fahrenheit (F)
Conversion °C = (°F – 32) * 5/9 °F = (°C * 9/5) + 32
1 °C = 1.8 °F 1 °F = 0.55 °C
0 °F = -18 °C 60 °F = 15 °C
20 °F = -6 °C 80 °F = 26 °C
40 °F = 4 °C 100 °F = 38 °C
Weight:

1 centigram(cg) = 10 milligrams(mg) 1 pound(lb) = 16 ounces(oz)
1 gram(g) = 100 centigrams(cg) 1 ton(t) = 2,000 pounds(lb)
1 kilogram(kg) = 1,000 grams(g) 1 ounce(oz) = 28.3495 grams(g)
1 gram(g) = 0.0353 ounces(oz) 1 pound(lb) = 0.4536 kilograms(kg)
1 kilogram(kg) = 2.2046 pounds(lb) 1 ton(t) = 907.1847 kilograms(kg)
Length/Distance:
